Through cold-rolling CRS, the steel is given a work-hardening that allows it to achieve different temper levels, such as ¼, ½ and full hard. The extent of the work-hardening determines how hard the metal is; ¼-hard being bendable without breaking, ½-hard capable of being bent to a 90-degree angle, and full-hard able to bend at a 45-degree angle without compromising the structural integrity of the material.

Thanks to its enhanced durability, Cold Rolled Steel is often used in projects that involve bending without the risk of the metal fracturing.
